Actually, we only have two patients as inpatients right now, and both are fairly interesting.

So I'm done with my work today, until one of them comes back from surgery, and that won't be until six, and that means I'm stuck here until SIX PM unless I can find a way to weasel out of being here (which I probably can't).

Ugh.

It's not that this is a bad rotation. I'm just having a hard time getting things DONE. I have three pages of PREP questions (peds board review questions) to answer, and I can't find the old self-assessment tests from 1997-2002 because no one ever KEPT them (frustrating, because I only have last year's-- 2003-- because before that I wasn't an AAP member).

So now I have to go search MD consult for information about stupidly obvious stuff.

Like this:

Know which diseases have been reported to spread within hospitals in ventilation systems (eg, aspergillosis, varicella)

Well, there's the answer. But oh, no, that's not enough, I have to double-freaking check and make SURE the answer is right...

Urgh.
