No More Doctor Stella For A While
Mar. 5th, 2004 07:40 pmAnd I have to say, I'm a touch relieved. 3 weeks of ONLY doing clinical stuff if *I* want to (I probably will do about a half-day a week during vacation to keep in practice): that's one week of jury duty and two weeks of vacation.
Not that I have anything new to report, except that my sudden relevation was that I love continuity of care. I dropped by BMT clinic and Endo clinic today to see patients and say hello-- people I've taken care of previously.
It was really, really good to see them, to catch up on how they were doing. Every one I saw, the pressure in my chest and the tension in my shoulders eased up a little more.
I had no idea I carried around such a huge worry-burden all day long. I don't know how ED docs do it (*nods to Slithytove*); no follow-up, until the NEXT 'crisis'.
I need that continuity. It keeps me convinced I'm doing something worthwhile.
