Bus Strike
Apr. 8th, 2004 09:03 pm...which I always want to type as 'Bust rike'.
But it's really cramping the style of the folks in the center of the city. I went to night clinic tonight-- a drop-in clinic for homeless teens.
Usually, 16-20 people show up in a 4 hour period for the YouthLink clinic. It's hopping! Busy! Stuff to do!
Three people showed up. Three.
Nobody can GET here, what with the bus strike. Nobody can get -anywhere-.
And you know, I'm driving downtown near Nicollet Mall and the sun is out and the downtown is so clean and the people look happy and well-dressed and they're going about their business, and not three blocks away there are kids trying to put together what's left of their lives and find a safe place to sleep.
