The Bells of Nagasaki
Aug. 9th, 2004 10:22 amIn remembrance of Nagasaki, I have a book recommendation to make:
_The Bells of Nagasaki_, by Takashi Nagai
Everyone should read this book.
I'm passing the time before clinic; one patient left on our census, one to be supervised. Tomorrow will be busy: mock code starts at 7:45 AM, and my team gets to run it.
I am lucky; I have students who work hard, and who do a good job. I have interns who are extremely capable and need very little checking up on. I have a sinking feeling that my intern is brighter than I am.
I have interesting cases to present today at conference. I have clinic today, and that means a full day's work.
And my parents are here; I love them dearly, but I am glad for a full day's work as a pretext for not listening to talk about politics. (Although I will say that I am going to have to hold my nose pretty tightly when I vote, given who Kerry chose as his running mate...)
