Finished Elise's Haiku challenge, which ended up being a linked metapoem with five or six verses in haiku structure.

Got a few sentences down on "Bufo's Dream", which I hope to post to the workshop.

Invited Dena over last-minute last night for dinner-- I was starting to chop stuff up for stir-fry and I said, "Hey, Mike.  I think Dena's sitting by herself in her apartment and I'm going nuts here by myself with Roo and didn't you want to go to Best Buy and the store and leave me alone with Roo again this evening?"

"Don't put any onions in," Mike responded.

So Dena came over and helped me fold laundry and we bonded over Mungo the Monster, which had flipped polarity after the weekend trips, and was once again dirty.  Now he's clean again.

Took a trip to Micawber's with Roo today since he hadn't puked, and stopped by the library to pick up _Baby Shakespeare_.  He's watching it right now.  He did say 'please get dis, Mommy, please watch DIS.'

So now he's watching the blah-dragon (whose name, I think, is Custard), and various sequences of toys.

After four and a half months of not-really-writing, picking it back up again is HARD.  Hard hard hard, and I have a set of 7 story starts on my desktop at the moment, and a headache thinking about each and every one of them.

That said, I want to pay a tribute to AOL for the one thing it did right:  instant messanger.  Without it, I would lose touch with everyone.

Then I'd hang myself.

That said, I did get two very interesting emails from my mother this week.  Not the usual forwarded-without-clipping headers thing she does, full of lame jokes or 'inspirational poetry'.  One was a picture of my Evil Grandmother and my Good Grandfather, ages 16 and 22.

The other was an email about a kid with hemihypertrophy of one side of his body and some kidney anomalies.  I hope he ends up being OK.  *sigh*
