I've never had to work with a co-senior resident before.
My co-senior is a second year family practice resident.
We disagree on a lot of things.
Even though it's more work, I feel like it's EASIER to do call all by myself. That way things are always done MY WAY, nothing falls through the cracks, and life is arranged to my satisfaction. There's no walking into a room because you're checking your co-senior's work behind his back and finding a REALLY SICK kid who deserves IV antibiotics who has just been switched over to PO antibiotics, who hasn't had any labs written for, and whose mother is upset because no one has explained what's going on to her.
On the plus side, I still love working with medical students and interns; it's so nice to teach again, I can't even begin to tell you!
Hopefully, they'll do things MY WAY.
As regards the compressibility of time; it flows in odd ways. It elongates like taffy around 3 AM, but squishes down into quick little fifteen minute segments when I'm pushed up against a deadline around 11 AM. I wish it would stretch out a little longer this afternoon so that when I go to get Roo around 3, I'll feel rested. But somehow, I don't think it will.
