We skipped church to clean the house.
In retrospect, we should have gone to church, since the reason for the house to be clean has come and gone (M'ris and Mark and CJ were here *yesterday*).
However, since my husband is a compulsive cleaner, we skipped church to clean the house.
I'm now trying to convince myself that this was, in fact, a reasonable thing to do.
Failing, too.
With that said, this afternoon is the annual retreat for the pediatric group I'll be joining in September 2005. I was invited (I should go?), so I'm going, and hopefully I'll get a chance to touch base with Shabnam, the other 'new hire' there.
Tomorrow we're meeting with a realtor to try to figure out what we can/can't afford-- we're not preapproved for a loan or anything, and I doubt we'd be buying a house before August/September (although I have some more moonlighting opportunities, and that will help the general state of emptiness of the coffers).
Regardless, we aren't moving ANY farther east than we're at now (Prospect Park/St. Anthony Park/Falcon Hts), and I'd actually prefer to be a bit west, as the clinics I'll be working at are, for the most part, western-suburb clinics. But I don't know which school districts and neighborhoods are good ones.
Anyone know a quick way to check that, or have a testimonial for me about their neighborhood?
