Onward. Thanks. Goals. Question. Vignette
Jun. 6th, 2005 11:19 amMany thanks to you all for listening to me whine without offering a Boot to the Ass. Or the head. Or whatever.
I'm still not ready to talk about it online, more than I have in the last few entries. I don't know that I ever will be.
Suffice it to say that there are things I can learn from this experience, and that it's shaved another bump off my personality. Only 1,234,473,001 more bumps to go.
Let me make a special thank you mention paragraph, too:
Pamela, for writing TAM LIN, which I've been cuddled up to for the last few days, M'ris and Co for the scones, Peg, for being so understanding, and to You Know Who You Are who sent me the 'One Day At A Time' card.
My current goal is to finish up some of the outstanding paperwork that I've got left before graduation. I also have to get another Mantoux test this week sometime.
No writing. I have stopped tallying or talking about rejection, since that's all I've gotten in a while. And I am refusing to let my hopes be lifted by a story that's been out for 66 days at a rather famous pro place that says they respond almost always within 60 days.
I sent a query on day 61 or 62. How long do I wait to query again?
With all that said, let me leave you all with a vignette.
Robin (to Mike): "This is our baby, Maya."
Mike: "Um... our baby?"
Robin: "Yes. I am... no, YOU are the Daddy."
Mike: "So who is the Mommy?"
Robin. "I am! Here!"
He carefully offers Mike his two hands, cupped together, with invisible little Maya inside them.
Robin: "I am going to work now, goodbye!"
And Robin runs out of the room and shuts the door behind him.
