I'm hiding (sulking) in the call room with Stargate on the TV.

This is the only place that has a TV/VCR in the call room, and I have not yet had a slow enough call to take advantage of it. So dammit, this afternoon is it.

I am also rewriting a short story that I started but couldn't finish back in the day (a year ago? eighteen months ago?). I thought, "OH, I can just finish it."

Oh, no. It wants a white paper rewrite.

And I've forgotten everything I ever knew about 1930's Pittsburgh.

Tomorrow, meeting #3 with our realtor. We've looked at Longfellow and at North and Northeast MLPS. Now Como neighborhood. SO far, liked Longfellow the best, although it is far from the most *convenient*. Most convenient is North, right along Xerxes Ave., right by the parkway and North Memorial.

Upon further reflection, South St. Anthony Park might work well, too.

Where do you live, and what do you like about it? What do you wish was different about the neighborhood you live in, if anything?

Anecdote.

(Yes, I know, and this is it for the day, I swear.)

I'm presenting a patient to the attending physician, who is also our residency directior; she's extremely supportive of my specfic writing.

"So," I say, just to recap a little, "He was on nafcillin and rifampin for ages for the staphylococcal wound infection, and of course the tenor of the flora in his wound changed. He's now growing e. coli from the wound, and..."

My attending starts laughing, and interrupts me. "I can tell you're a writer."

I blink. "Uh?"

"The 'tenor of the flora'. I love that. I love that phrase, it's just so smooth and professional sounding."

I bite my lip, and think to myself, Actually, the phrasing on that's rather clunky, *I* think.

But if I said THAT out loud she'd probably just laugh even more.
