Candy? My Tooth Fairy left me money -- quarters, most often. Once I got two quarters, because my parents didn't realize the other had taken care of it.

I've always heard the tooth fairy traded a coin for a tooth. The REASON behind this transaction always mystified me, but Jason's mother provided an explanation which I had never heard. She told him as he was growing up that the tooth fairy lived in a castle made of teeth and she was always looking for more teeth with which to build her castle, so she "bought" them from children who didn't need them any longer.

I don't know why she needed an ever-expanding castle; maybe the teeth she was using were decaying.

Congratulations to Robin for reaching this major milestone away from babyhood. :) And many comforts to you, mama, for the same reason. ;)
