porphyrinSo as it turns out, the toilet can't be installed on the first floor just yet.
It'll take over 10 grand of plumbing work to install a toilet on the first floor.
Why?
The feed's been filled with concrete.
The plumbers will have to re-pipe everything down to the main sewer line, which is hidden in the wall of the house, and that means ripping out that wall, down in the basement. That's one of the laundry room walls.
As Joe, the plumber, said, "Better get a loan from Bill Gates."
Joe, the plumber, was kind enough to take a look at the hot water heating system. When someone says, in various tones of indignation and ire, "That's not up to code!" and "They got that from Menard's and did it themselves, and lookit what happened-- yah, right there--" about six times in one minute, that's not good either.
If the previous occupants of this house weren't already dead, I'd kill 'em.
